Tibet is considered one of the beautiful places. In Tibet, to visit Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, many pilgrims from across the country and abroad come to this sacred land of Tibet with devotion. Pilgrims reach Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar passing through Nepal and the China-administered region. This entire journey takes 13 days and 14 nights. During this journey, 3 nights are spent in Kathmandu and 10 nights in Tibet. Before going to the Kailash mountain journey, all devotees worship Lord Pashupatinath. This worship is also called Dev Pathan. During the journey, you will see beautiful views, waterfalls, and the pure water of rivers that attract the mind. These views make your journey extremely beautiful. In this journey, you truly experience the natural beauty of nature.

During this journey, when we enter the China-administered region, all pilgrims proceed with peace and devotion in their hearts by showing passports or other identification documents, etc.

When we reach the city of Nyalam during the journey, we pause for a while to observe the scenic views of the hills. Because the city of Nyalam is situated at an altitude of approximately 3700 meters above sea level. Due to the height, the complete view of the mountains from here is clearly visible and presents immense beauty.

After moving forward in this journey for some time, we reach Mansarovar Lake. From there, leaving our vehicles as per the local rules, a bus is provided. The journey ahead starts with that and we move forward to reach Jhumbha. Many lodges and such places have been made here for staying. Mansarovar Lake is also called Manas. Manas means mind and consciousness. In this sense, Mansarovar Lake is a symbol of consciousness and knowledge. Mansarovar Lake is situated at an altitude of 4580 meters above sea level. In Hinduism, it is believed that by circumambulating the lake and bathing in its pure waters, the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly in one’s life are washed away. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati bathe in this lake from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM at night.

After this, pilgrims reach Yam Dwar and circumambulate it. After its circumambulation, pilgrims visit Kailash Dham and return afterward.

Mount Kailash is located at an altitude of 6714 meters above sea level. It is considered the most sacred pilgrimage site in the world. Due to being extremely sacred, very few people can reach here. Because the journey to Mount Kailash is considered very difficult. The greatness of Mount Kailash is also mentioned in holy epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Information related to Mount Kailash:

Mount Kailash is a very vast mountain range situated in Tibet. Near it are the Mansarovar and Rakshas Tal lakes. Rivers like Brahmaputra, Indus, and Sutlej originate from this mountain range. In Hinduism, the journey to Mount Kailash is given the status of being very sacred and holy.
Mount Kailash is always covered with snow. It is a pilgrimage site at a peak of 21,778 feet. This region is also called Manas Khand.
Many legends related to this place are popular. It is believed that during the Pandavas’ conquest of directions (Digvijay Yatra), Arjuna had conquered this region. Apart from them, many sages and hermits are also believed to have resided here. Jainism also gives a lot of importance to this place. Around 72 Jinalayas (Jain temples) can be seen on this mountain.
The strange mountain ranges of Mount Kailash are filled with natural beauty. They spread from Kashmir to Bhutan. The northern peak of this mountain range is called Kailash. If we see this mountain from a distance, it appears like a Shivling, and it always remains covered in snow.
It is said that any person who completes 108 circumambulations of Mount Kailash attains liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

There are many routes to complete the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, but the route passing through Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand is considered the easiest. This route is about 544 kilometers long. You will see many ups and downs on this route too. For rest, many Dharamshalas are available on the way, where facilities for pilgrims to stay are available. To make the journey easier, yaks, mules, and porters also offer their services.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra’s circumambulation begins and ends at Tarchen. To complete the circumambulation, one has to travel approximately 53 kilometers. For pilgrims, the time from June to September is considered the most suitable for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. It takes about two months to complete the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Mount Kailash is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. It is believed that in the snow-covered region, Lord Shiva Shambhu Nath is absorbed in meditation, adopting serenity, silence, and the Aghor form, meditating in solitude. This is described in many religions and scriptures. Due to Lord Shiva and Lord Adinath, Mount Kailash is considered one of the holiest places in the world. The description of Mount Kailash is found in many Sanskrit texts. It is first mentioned in Shishupal Vadh.
